OR-138,
which follows the beautiful North Umpqua River, has been officially
designated as the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway. It is also a favored
route to Crater Lake National Park. There are several spectacular
waterfalls which are easily viewable along this route. True, you
usually have to get out of your car, but the stroll to good viewing
points is never challenging.

How to get
there:
Exit I-5
in Roseburg onto OR-138 and head east, across the river to OR-99.
Here, OR-138 follows 99 north for a couple blocks and then goes east
(right) again. Or-138 now continues, past Glide, Steamboat and Diamond
Lake, to Crater Lake National Park.
