New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center has the distinction of having been designed by the architectural firm I.M. Pei & Partners. Functioning as New York's Convention and Exhibition Center since 1986, the Center has over 800,000 square feet of exhibit space and accommodates nearly 100 major tradeshows and other special events each year. While not exactly a 'tourist attraction', a good many New York City tourists are in New York because they are attending a function at the Javits Center.
