Visitors' Center
- just south of exit 13 of I-90 is the Coeur d'Alene Visitor and
Convention Services' Visitors' Center. Exit onto N. 4th Street and just
a half block south of the Interstate is a street angling off to the
right. This is signed as 3rd Street but it takes you to N. 3rd. Continue
south on N. 3rd for 4 blocks and the Visitors' Center is about mid
block, on your right, at 1621 N. 3rd Street. Phone (toll free):
1-877-782-9232 - or - view their web site at Coeur
d'Alene VCS.
Fantasy in
Lights - Almost no one wants to drive across the country on I-90 in
mid Winter but, just in case you are here during the holiday season, you
certainly do not want to miss their Fantasy in Lights show. We just
though we'd mention it, just in case. Get specifics and schedules from
the Visitors' Center. 1-877-782-9232.

Tubbs Hill -
This small, solitary peak at the south end of town fronting Coeur
d'Alene Lake features a very nice, 3.2 mile walking trail which loops
around Tubbs Hill. Enjoy great views of the lake plus a pleasant stroll
through the woods.
Take I-90 exit 15 and follow I-90 Business (Sherman Avenue) to S.
3rd Street. Turn left, cross the tracks and drive to the parking area at
the end of the street. Coeur d'Alene
Lake Scenic Drive - Here is one of the most scenic drives in
the region. If eastbound on I-90, take exit 22 and head south on ID-97.
This is a good road and follows the east shore of Coeur d'Alene Lake to
ID-3 at the southern end. At ID-3, turn left and follow it north, past
another chain of lakes, back to I-90 at exit 34.
If you are westbound on I-90, take exit 34 and follow ID-3
southbound to ID-97. Turn right on 97 and follow it, northbound, back to
I-90 at exit 22. There are about 6 or 7 mile at the south end of ID-97
where the highway climbs up and runs along a plateau. Watch out for deer
and other larger animals along here. Total drive about 58 miles.
