| A
little way out (west) on US-24 from Colorado Springs is the community of
Cascade. And right next to Cascade is a Christmas-themed amusement park
called North Pole. Besides the more than two-dozen rides they put on
several magic shows through the day. At the center of all this is Santa's
North Pole - an ice-covered pole which (they say) never melts. The place is very
convenient if you are visiting Colorado Springs, on the way to Pikes Peak
if that is one of your destinations, and just a short detour if you are
just passing through on I-25. |
Seasonal, of course,
from May through Christmas Eve. (Gives Santa time to bang out a few more
toys.) Entry fee for adults and children is $12.95. Those in their second
childhood (seniors) get in for $5.50. Is this why so many of the kids are
escorted by their grandparents?
